Scientific integrity and good practice

Scientific integrity corresponds to a pattern of conduct in research characterised by observing and promoting the ethical and deontological principles that inspire and ensure practice that is rigorous, responsible and reliable, free from undue influences (including foreign interference and conflicts of interest).

Research staff must focus their work with honour, reliability, objectivity, impartiality and independence, open communication, due diligence, equity, and responsibility regarding future generations in science.

Good practice in research

Good scientific practice is a set of actions and behaviours, both individual and organisational, based on the fundamental values of science, which express the principles and responsibilities associated with scientific integrity.

Good scientific practice underpins responsible conduct in research.

Good practice is developed through a set of guidelines, recommendations, and commitments related to the conduct of research activities.
